zeke and wendy

We're living in Manchester, England.

whinge-v. (whinged, whing·ing, whing·es) Chiefly British; To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner

so this is a new word we’ve picked up that gets used in our vocabulary quite often, as you might imagine.  but when one of us is whining about something and the other says, “Oh, you’re whinging on and on”, it has a comic effect.

there have been a few things that constantly get whinged about here at the smiths.  we hesitate to air our grievances because last time wendy complained about not finding travel mugs, it seemed massively concerning to you all and we received a few and many many offers for exporting tumblers, just so she could have her coffee on the go.

but for your entertainment (and a little better picture of our environment), here is a list of current sources of whinging:

-no dishwashers!  apparently it’s very uncommon to have these.  this paired with no disposal is not too fun. (i mean really what did people do, all the way back in… the 70’s?)

-the weather. yes, we should have expected this one, but nothing can prepare you for experiencing it day after day after day…

-wendy misses clif bars like free willy missed the ocean.

-zeke misses some of his favourite food from home: burgers, mexican, pizza

-being on a 5 hour time difference for the NCAA basketball tournament.  we’ve been basically nocturnal for the month.

ok, so we’ve stopped ourselves for now.  we’re also thinking the whinge category could be recurring if we counter it with things we’re happy about too.  we’ll have to start an “ace” or “brill” category as well.
