a walk in the neighborhood and 1st day of school
here’s proof of the travel mug! they do exist here!
we decided to take a walk through our neighborhood on sunday afternoon and we found this cute little guy on our walk to the park.
us at the entryway to birchfield park, the closest one to our house- about a 5 minute walk. i think the plaque says it was created in 1888.

i love this tree-lined path in the park. walking through the park made me so happy. i’m not used to living in the city and it was good to be near trees at least. in the future we look forward to heading to the english countryside.

around the corner in victoria park we found a few houses with gardens in front. i love these flowers.
we stumbled across the victoria baths, which are in the process of being restored and supposedly will return to its original use.
this morning zeke said he felt like a parent sending me off to my first day of class, so we went ahead and took the obligatory picture. (note the travel mug and flip-flops. hopefully my blisters will heal soon and i can wear real shoes.)
after class i declined a lunch invite from a classmate who is getting over swine flu. really- i know i’m supposed to make friends and all, but my immune system was yelling, “NO! don’t do it!” so, maybe i’ll socialize more later…
i came home from school today to find zeke putting my bike together! yay! it’s black and gold and called “kensington”, but other than that i really know nothing about bikes.
tonight we’re having a friend over for soup that i’m making. then we’re heading to the whitworth art museum for a lecture on the current show: the american scene prints from hopper to pollock.
