things wendy did this week

-ordered a bike online after giving up on the stores here that run out of bikes. (don’t worry, i got a helmet, lock, and basket too.)
-talked to 3 amazing students from uganda for 2 hours while waiting at the bank.
-finally found a travel mug… at starbucks! they call it a tumbler.
-registered with a GP (a doctor)- nationalized health care. i’ll let you know how it is.
-found out my prescription migraine medicine is available over-the-counter here (but it’s still expensive).
-had dinner at my adviser, carol’s house with her other students.
-bought moccasin slippers, like an old man.
-was disappointed that it’s so freaking hard to get an iphone here.
-made zeke’s favorite shepherd’s pie.
-learned how to use the italian stove-top coffee brewer (yummy).
-saw more half-naked manchester girls. why do they just refuse to wear clothes?
-found the best grocery store, the huge sainsbury’s in fallowfield.
-nursed my infected foot blister.
-found out selfridges isn’t a drug store, but a super posh department store.
-was complimented on my “lovely accent” by two british women at the cookie shop.
-made several british people laugh with my apparently silly questions.
